While on tour in the Caribbean, IShowSpeed gave a fan money to replace their broken phone after they asked him for help.
During a live stream, a fan brought up an old meme from Speed’s early broadcasts, then shared their personal situation and asked for assistance.
Speed pays for fan’s new phone
During a Twitch livestream on April 28th, a fan got close to Speed and his security team while they were at the Saint Lucia Cruise Port.
The boy caught Speed’s attention and explained, “My mom doesn’t really have a home, so she could only afford to get me a Nokia phone.”
After seeing the streamer’s phone, Speed jokingly said, “Seriously? Just a Nokia?”, which led the streamer to ask if Speed would buy him a new one.
Speed responded with an enthusiastic, “Yeah, man,” but then asked if the story was true. He pressed, “Are you serious? Don’t lie to me.”

“I’m telling the truth, I promise,” the boy insisted, even offering to have his mother confirm it—though he couldn’t actually get ahold of her at that moment.
Despite initially being scammed, Speed ultimately decided to do the right thing and gave the boy money to replace his broken phone. The boy was so grateful he started crying and hugged Speed tightly when he received it.
Speed explained to his viewers why he’d made the trade, saying it bothered him that the other person still used an old Nokia phone. He admitted, “I just couldn’t help it, guys.”
