How to Get Premium Wood in Starsand Island

Starsand Island has lots of different crafting materials to find, and each one needs a certain tool or a trip to a specific place. Some, like Carbon Line, are especially complex and require combining several materials at a special crafting table.

You’ll eventually need Premium Wood in the game, but getting it isn’t as simple as it sounds. You’ll first need to find a special tool before you can collect it.

Let’s break down how you can get Premium Wood in Starsand Island.

Where to Get Premium Wood

You get Premium Wood by chopping down trees on Starsand Island, just like other wood types. The item description in your inventory will confirm it comes from giant trees.

The game doesn’t explicitly list which trees are considered ‘giant,’ but they’re usually pretty easy to tell apart from regular trees.

Focus on cutting down white fig trees – they’re the source of Premium Wood. Plus, they also give you both Softwood and Hardwood, letting you gather three different types of wood from each tree.

White fig trees grow mostly on the north side of the island, and I usually go near Cloudrest Lake to look for them.

You’ll need a machete to cut down a white fig tree. The machete is an upgrade to your starting axe – it’s the second one you can get.

To make this tool, you will need the following items:

  • 4 Hardwood Planks
  • 4 Iron Sheets
  • 2 Radiant Crystals
  • 3 Bronze
  • 1 Impact Axe

Making this item is like building any powerful tool – you’ll need to gather iron ore and other harder-to-find resources first.

Okay, so once I’ve gathered all the stuff I need, I can actually make the machete at a level 2 workbench – but only if I have the recipe first. If I haven’t bought it yet, I can grab it from Zerine’s shop in town. Easy enough!

As you progress through Zerine’s Crafter quest, you’ll build a level two worktable. After finishing that, you’ll be able to craft a machete, which you can then use to chop down big trees.

Purchasing Premium Wood

You can find Premium Wood by collecting it from white fig trees on the island, but it’s also possible to buy it. Setting up the purchase option requires a little initial effort.

To start, unlock the Supply Boost skill through the Workpedia App on your in-game phone. This will allow local stores to sell raw materials.

You’ll need this to buy materials from the shops. Also, you must advance in Zerine’s questline and become a Senior Crafter.

When you reach the rank of Senior Crafter, you can buy Premium Wood from Zerine’s shop in town for 25 Coins.
