No Man’s Sky remains popular almost a decade after its launch, thanks to Hello Games consistently adding fresh content. Just last week, a major update arrived featuring a limited-time event called Breach. This lets you embark on a new adventure and earn rewards by completing various challenges. Some challenges, like the one involving Jellyflesh, are quite demanding. Another tricky mission is Tendrils, which requires you to defeat a specific enemy type – the Hungering Tendrils. Let’s take a look at how to finish it.
How to find and kill Hungering Tendrils in NMS?
The ‘Tendrils’ task is part of the third set of challenges. You’ll need to defeat five Hungering Tendrils, but it’s trickier than it sounds. The instructions aren’t very clear, and these creatures only appear on planets marked as ‘infested.’ If you’re having trouble finding them, we’re here to help.
You can find Hungering Tendrils on the planet Giumf VII, also known as “Boiling Doom.” This planet is located in the Kobaya-Odgo XIV system. You’ll need to visit Giumf VII regardless, as it’s the location of Rendezvous 3. Once there, look for large eggs protruding from the ground – approaching them will cause the Hungering Tendrils to appear.
If you encounter a Hungering Tendril, you need to destroy it. The battle itself isn’t too difficult – just keep moving to dodge its attacks and fire continuously. You can also use your ship during the fight, which will make things even simpler.
Repeat this process five times to finish the Tendrils milestone and unlock the next set of quests. Best of luck!
