According to her manager, actress O’Hara passed away on January 30, 2026. As of now, no information about how she died has been released.
I’ve always loved Catherine O’Hara! She’s just incredible in so many things. I mean, who could forget her as Kevin’s mom in Home Alone? And then she absolutely killed it as Moira Rose on Schitt’s Creek. But it’s not just comedy – she was amazing as Sally in The Nightmare Before Christmas and totally quirky as Delia Deetz in Beetlejuice. She’s just a really versatile actress!
Though she’s most famous for her movies, O’Hara started her career doing comedy and appearing on TV in the late 1970s, and didn’t begin acting in films until the mid-1980s.

Born in Toronto on March 4, 1954, the actress was a dual citizen of Canada and the United States. She shared in a 2021 interview that she has situs inversus, a rare genetic condition causing her internal organs to be mirrored from their normal position.
She passed away at the age of 71. Fans are sharing their appreciation for her acting career on social media, fondly remembering her iconic performances in beloved films and TV shows.
