Good news for Hollow Knight fans! Team Cherry just announced a free update for Silksong, and it will be available much sooner than many expected – you won’t have to wait years to play it.
Man, the wait for Hollow Knight: Silksong has been brutal. It started as just a little extra content for the first game, but when they announced it back in 2019, I don’t think anyone expected it to take this long. We’ve been waiting six years now, and honestly, the silence from the developers became a joke within the community. It’s been years of just… waiting and hoping for any news!
Team Cherry, the creators of Hollow Knight, have revealed a new DLC called Sea of Sorrow for their highly anticipated sequel, Hollow Knight: Silksong, in a recent YouTube video.
Hollow Knight: Silksong Sea Of Sorrow Launches In 2026
The new trailer for Hollow Knight: Silksong – Sea of Sorrow is short and focuses on Hornet facing large waves, leaving much to the imagination. While it doesn’t reveal much about the game’s size, the trailer’s description hints at exploration both on the surface and underwater.
The most important news is that Hollow Knight: Silksong Sea Of Sorrow is now scheduled to release in 2026, according to the trailer. While it could launch late in the year, on December 31st, that’s still a much shorter wait than fans experienced for the original game.
Fans were curious if Team Cherry, the creators of Hollow Knight, would move on to new projects after such a successful series. While Hollow Knight: Silksong might be the last major game for a while, Sea of Sorrow shows there are still stories to tell in Hornet’s world – likely filled with challenging bosses and plenty of attempts before players master them.
