High Potential season 3 has a confirmed release window, but it comes with a major change.
The crime drama, starring Kaitlin Olson (nominated for an Emmy three times), is returning after a dramatic season finale that saw a major character seriously injured. The show will also have new leadership, with Nora and Lilla Zuckerman taking on the roles of showrunners.
ABC has announced its plans for the 2026-2027 TV season, and season 3 of High Potential will now premiere in 2027 instead of its originally scheduled time. According to Ari Goldman, a senior vice president at ABC, this delay is to ensure the show airs without breaks. He explains the reasoning further below.
The first two seasons of High Potential faced several interruptions. The initial season was brief, and the second season’s schedule was disrupted by its placement before Dancing With the Stars and the start of holiday programming, creating an uneven viewing experience. We’re excited to bring the show back now with a more focused and consistent approach, and we’re working hard to ensure viewers can watch it without these kinds of breaks.
