December is shaping up to be a great month for streaming, especially with the arrival of Volume 2 of Stranger Things 5. Looking ahead to 2026, there will continue to be lots of new content available at home. And in just a few weeks, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms will premiere on HBO Max, adding to the world of Game of Thrones. With the release date approaching, the final trailer for the series is now available online.
A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms is set 100 years before the story of Game of Thrones. The series follows the adventures of Ser Duncan the Tall, a brave but inexperienced knight, and his young squire, Egg, as they travel across Westeros.
Okay, so the game takes place way back in the time when the Targaryens were still ruling, and people actually remember dragons! I’m playing as one character, and I’ve got a really close friend helping me out. But things are about to get tough – we’re facing some seriously dangerous challenges and unexpected enemies are popping up everywhere. It’s gonna be a wild ride!
A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms – final trailer
Unlike Game of Thrones and House of the Dragon, the new series, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, will concentrate on fewer main characters. Author George R.R. Martin has already praised the show, calling it a true and accurate adaptation of his work.
I’m so excited about the first season of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms! It’s going to have six episodes, and the best part is they’re releasing a new one each week. I’m really happy that George R.R. Martin and Ira Parker are the ones working on it – I trust them to do a great job!
The cast includes Peter Claffey as Ser Duncan the Tall, Dexter Sol Ansell as Egg, and Daniel Ings as Ser Lyonel Baratheon. Bertie Carvel plays Baelor Targaryen, with Danny Webb as Ser Arlan of Pennytree, Sam Spruell as Maekar Targaryen, and Shaun Thomas as Raymun Fossoway. Finn Bennett portrays Aerion Targaryen, Edward Ashley is Ser Steffon Fossoway, Tanzyn Crawford plays Tanselle, and Henry Ashton is Daeron Targaryen. Rounding out the cast are Youssef Kerkour as Steely Pate, Tom Vaughan-Lawlor as Plummer, and Daniel Monks as Ser Manfred Dondarrion.
A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms will be released on HBO Max on January 19, 2026.
