Hasbro has unveiled a detailed, premium Grogu figure based on his appearance in the new movie, The Mandalorian and Grogu.
This highly detailed, 14.6-inch animatronic figure costs $599.99 and was created with Disney and Lucasfilm. It’s a true-to-life, full-size replica of the character, built using props from the actual movie set and weighing almost nine pounds. It’s designed as a collectible item.
You can pre-order starting April 30th at 1 PM Eastern Time. The first edition is expected to ship by the end of 2026, while the standard edition will arrive in early 2027. Both versions cost $599.99.
Hasbro’s Ultimate Grogu features over 250 animations
As a huge Star Wars fan, I’m completely blown away by the new Ultimate Grogu! Apparently, this thing is incredibly lifelike – it has over 250 different ways it can move and make sounds. It’s powered by motors inside, and it’s super posable with 18 points of articulation. But the coolest part? It can actually blink, babble, and even ‘toddle’ around! It reacts to you too – touch, movement, or even just making a noise will get a response, thanks to the seven sensors built in.
This animatronic is built to be interactive and unpredictable. Each time you play with it, you might get a different reaction. For instance, tapping Grogu’s head could result in various responses, and how he behaves also changes depending on whether you hold or move him.

As a huge Star Wars fan, I was really excited to hear that the sounds for this Grogu toy come straight from Skywalker Sound – that’s amazing! Hasbro has access to all the official sound effects, so it really feels like the Grogu you see on screen. What’s even cooler is that it has two microphones, so Grogu can actually hear where sounds are coming from and turn his head towards them – it’s like he’s responding to you! Hasbro has also made it clear that it doesn’t record anything, which is good to know.
This collectible figure comes with fun, interactive accessories like a cookie and a detonator. The cookie lets you wirelessly interact with Grogu, making him appear to eat and react. You can also make the figure simulate using the Force, causing the accessories to move with a simple command.
Three modes and collector-focused design
Ultimate Grogu has three different ways to play: Explore Mode lets the figure move around and react to its surroundings. Display Mode is for posing and features animations inspired by the show. And Grab & Go Mode makes it easy to take Grogu with you, perfect for events or costumes.
It took about two years to develop the product. Hasbro engineers carefully studied the puppets used on set and even held a private session at San Diego Comic-Con to examine things like their materials, how they moved, and their size.

Hasbro says director Jon Favreau saw and liked the initial design for the toy before it was presented at Toy Fair.
This figure needs four D batteries, but you’ll have to buy those separately. Alternatively, you can power it using a USB-C cable – it doesn’t need to be charged beforehand.
Hasbro announced a more affordable version of the Grogu animatronic toy: a 10-inch Action Buddy Grogu for about $50. This smaller version features over 50 sounds and movements and is designed for younger children.
Hasbro’s Ultimate Grogu is their most detailed and sophisticated version of the character yet, building on previous toys released with the first season of the Disney+ show.
