Brian Fleming, a co-founder of Sucker Punch Productions, is leaving the game studio after 28 years. He’s been with the company since it started in 1997 and says he doesn’t have plans for his next move yet.
In a post on LinkedIn, Fleming said, “I really don’t know what’s next.”
He’ll be with Sucker Punch until April 2026 to help with the changeover, and then he intends to travel. He’s taking the time to figure out what he wants to do next, considering various possibilities. These include staying in the gaming industry, exploring opportunities in tech, entering the entertainment world, or even working in advocacy or politics.
After 28 incredible years leading Sucker Punch, I’ve decided it’s time for a change,” he announced.
Starting January 1st, Jason Connell and Adrian Bentley will lead Sucker Punch Productions as co-studio heads. Jason Connell was a co-creative director on Ghost of Tsushima and Yotei, while Adrian Bentley is the technical director. Nate Fox will remain a co-creative director. According to Fleming, he’s confident he’s leaving the studio with its most capable leadership team yet.
He expressed complete confidence in the studio’s future, saying that everyone is highly skilled and eager to take on new projects.
Sucker Punch Productions first gained widespread recognition with the 2002 game Sly Cooper, which launched a popular series of sequels. Before that, they released Rocket: Robot on Wheels for the N64 in 1999. They followed up with another hit, Infamous, in 2009. Sony officially purchased Sucker Punch in 2011.
Next up for Sucker Punch in 2026’s Ghost of Yotei: Legends, which is free multiplayer DLC.
