A social media influencer is fleeing authorities after receiving a three-year prison sentence for fatally striking a personal trainer with her vehicle.
Rosa Iberê Tavares Dantas, a social media influencer who broadcasted on Bigo Live, was found guilty of causing the death of Talis Roque da Silva, a 31-year-old motorcyclist, in Manaus, Brazil. The incident was ruled a case of negligent homicide.
On August 31, 2023, a collision occurred when Dantas made a turn and hit da Silva, who was riding a motorcycle. Da Silva was thrown from the motorcycle, hit a metal pole, and broke several bones.
Da Silva was rushed to the hospital and initially revived, but unfortunately passed away after his heart stopped.

Interpol alerted after influencer-turned-fugitive flees to avoid jail
Dantas received a three-year prison sentence on May 4th, as decided by Judge Áldrin Henrique de Castro Rodrigues of the Manaus Criminal Court.
She was found guilty of causing a death through carelessness and sentenced to serve her time in a prison that allows some freedom. She’ll be able to work or take classes during the day, but she must return to the prison each night.
The influencer was also fined and banned from driving for one year and six months.
Dantas is now considered a fugitive because she left Brazil while facing legal charges. She reportedly traveled to Madrid, Spain, and is now listed on Brazil’s national arrest warrant registry.
Authorities have also reportedly notified Interpol.

Following the incident, Dantas claimed he didn’t abandon the victim, stating online that he “provided all necessary assistance” when it occurred.
However, video of the crash seemingly shows she didn’t offer assistance after it happened.
Before the accident, Dantas had over 50,000 followers and often shared details about her life online. She posted about her work, fitness, travels, nice meals, and social activities. She was also known for owning unusual pets, like three boa constrictor snakes.
After the accident, she shared her grief, writing: “Today was a terrible tragedy, and only God and my family truly know how heartbroken I am.”
Dantas isn’t the only social media personality to leave the country after a car crash. In 2024, HSTikkyTokky also fled the UK following a crash involving his $300,000 McLaren. After a year of being sought by authorities, he received a sentence that kept him out of jail.
