Early Monday morning, a thief used scuba diving equipment to break into Paddlefish, a restaurant at Disney Springs that’s designed like a steamboat, and stole between $10,000 and $20,000.
On September 15th, shortly after midnight, someone broke into a business in Orange County and stole cash. Thankfully, no one was hurt.
I couldn’t believe what I read! Apparently, a guy swam right up to the Paddlefish restaurant, ditched his scuba gear, and just walked into the manager’s office. Witnesses said there were two employees counting money, and he made them get down and, unbelievably, actually tied them up before robbing them! It’s crazy to think someone would pull something like that.
Employees freed themselves and called 911
The burglar escaped in under two minutes, and investigators think he dove back into the lake at Disney Springs using scuba equipment. Despite a quick search, deputies couldn’t find him.
The sheriff’s office released a photo of a man vandalizing a security camera with spray paint. Witnesses said he was slender, around 5’10”, and was wearing close-fitting clothes and a blue beanie.
A local resident was arrested in June for breaking into a restaurant and trying to charge his Tesla using the soda machine’s power outlet.
