As a seasoned crypto investor who has closely followed the developments in the digital currency space, I can’t help but feel a sense of disbelief and disappointment upon hearing about the arrest of Remy St Felix and his associates for their involvement in violent crimes aimed at stealing cryptocurrencies.

I uncovered evidence that St Felix was the mastermind behind a transnational criminal organization responsible for instigating violent acts against American citizens with the ultimate goal of separating them from their cryptocurrencies. This operation took place across multiple regions in the United States and abroad between September 2022 and July 2023. Alongside St Felix, 13 other individuals based in the US were also found guilty for their roles in these crimes.

I, Remy St Felix from West Palm Beach, was the mastermind behind a group of criminals who preyed on cryptocurrency owners through violent home invasions between September 2022 and July 2023. We carried out a string of robberies in Durham, North Carolina; Florida; Texas; and New York.

As a researcher studying cybercrime trends, I’ve come across cases where hackers, including those who targeted St Felix and others, managed to infiltrate victims’ email accounts without their consent. Once they had gained access, these criminals would carefully observe their targets through physical surveillance before making their move.

The statement additionally reveals that St Felix and his accomplices concealed the ill-gotten funds they acquired by utilizing cryptocurrencies like Monero, which offer anonymity, as well as “instant exchanges” and decentralized finance platforms that do not perform customer identification checks. Nevertheless, the FBI’s Charlotte Field Office meticulously unraveled their identities and traced their whereabouts to apprehend them.

In July 2023, St Felix was apprehended by the FBI before he could carry out another criminal act – this time, a planned home invasion in New York. Thirteen other accomplices were similarly taken into custody around the same period. All of them confessed to their involvement in the schemes.

St. Felix was convicted by the jury on several charges and is facing a prison term with a minimum length of 7 years and a maximum possibility of serving life. His imprisonment will begin on September 11th. Among the offenses for which he was held responsible were: nine instances of conspiring, kidnapping, committing Hobbs Act robbery, engaging in wire fraud, and wielding a firearm during the commission of violent crimes.
