ESPN and YouTube TV are currently in a disagreement, resulting in Disney-owned channels being removed from the streaming service. They haven’t been able to reach a new agreement on terms.
YouTube TV is a popular choice for people who have canceled cable, particularly those who love watching sports. It offers a wide variety of channels, including coverage of the NFL, college basketball, and football.
The streaming service has faced some disagreements about content rights recently. For example, in February, its price went up to $82.99 even after losing 20 channels from Paramount+. They were able to reach a short-term agreement to resolve the issue, though.
YouTube TV and Disney recently failed to reach an agreement for channels like ESPN and ABC, potentially disrupting access for viewers.
ESPN & Disney-owned channels drop off YouTube TV
ESPN stated on October 31st that YouTube TV is preventing its subscribers from watching channels like ESPN and ABC because they wouldn’t agree to fair pricing. This means YouTube TV customers will lose access to ESPN’s programming, including major live sports like NFL, NBA, and college football – with games featuring 13 of the top 25 college teams happening this weekend.
Disney claimed Google was attempting to stifle competition and offer less favorable deals than those Disney had already made with other companies.
We understand this is frustrating for YouTube TV users and are doing everything we can to fix the issue quickly.
Statement regarding Google’s YouTube TV

Similar to their recent issue with Paramount, YouTube has pledged to offer a $20 credit to YouTube TV customers if they lose access to channels like ESPN for a significant amount of time.
We understand this is frustrating for our subscribers, and we’re still asking Disney to work with us to find a fair solution so their channels can return to YouTube TV.
