A man in Japan, who is elderly, was arrested for taking a toilet from a warehouse and installing it in his house.
FNN reports that a 76-year-old man is suspected of stealing an entire toilet, including the tank, from a building site in Aichi Prefecture.
The outlet wrote that the stolen fixture was later found installed in his home.
However, investigators later found out he’d been using it for about three months before they realized.

So, they figured out the guy who was involved lives in Chiryu, which is pretty close to Toyota City – about a half hour drive, give or take. It’s not exactly next door, but definitely local.

He bought a toilet, installed it at his house, and started using it before the police arrived to investigate.
When questioned, he simply said, “I have been using the toilet that I stole.”
Yotsumoto used to be a carpenter, as reported by SoraNews. This experience with building and home repair likely helped him install the item himself.
One detail is still a mystery, though: the water tank is also missing. Even so, Yotsumoto insisted he didn’t take it, claiming he only stole the bowl.
“It is true that I stole the toilet set, but I did not steal anything else,” he explained.
Even though the toilet had been installed for three months, it was stolen and will probably be removed soon.
Ultimately, the key question is whether the owners would still want the item after it’s been used for several months.
