A movie based on the popular game Elden Ring is in the works! The director is Alex Garland, known for films like 28 Years Later and Ex Machina. Interestingly, Garland is also a gamer himself – he’s played a good amount of the ‘Shadow of the Erdtree’ expansion and even thinks the boss Radahn isn’t that difficult to beat.

We’re happy to hear the movie is being made by a talented team, and now we have news about the actors! Thanks to Deadline, we recently learned who’s in the cast, as well as when we can expect the film to come out. You can see the complete list below, but some of the standout names include Nick Offerman (known for The Last of Us), Tom Burke (from Furiosa), and Cailee Spaeny, who starred in Alien Romulus and was previously mentioned as being involved.

The movie is currently scheduled to be released on March 3, 2028. However, this date isn’t set in stone, as delays are common in filmmaking, and a lot can change over the next two years. Still, it’s good to have a tentative release date.
We still don’t have a clear picture of the movie, but a possible set leak from earlier this month gave us a general idea of what to expect. It seems a set representing the Church of Marika was leaked, which suggests the film takes place after the shattering event, though it’s currently unconfirmed if the images are legitimate or AI-generated.
