Bandai Namco released a new story trailer for Echoes of Aincrad. The trailer gives a preview of the game’s plot, letting players experience the world of Sword Art Online as if they are actually inside the game with their own character.
Okay, so the new trailer is seriously cool! It looks like we’re going to start the game way back in the closed beta for Sword Art Online, before everything goes crazy and it becomes a life-or-death situation. We’ll actually get to hang out and play with other people before all the mayhem, and it seems like we’ll even run into Argo during that time. Apparently, we won’t meet Kirito and Iori, the main girl, until after the game officially launches and turns into a death game. It’s going to be awesome to experience the beginning like that!
The latest trailer, featuring both Japanese and English audio, is available below. Echoes of Aincrad will launch globally on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and PC through Steam on July 10th. Players in Japan and Asia can enjoy the console versions starting a day earlier, on July 9th.
