Don’t get on the bad side of a “Dancing with the Stars” contestant and their partner! Former pro dancer Maksim Chmerkovskiy strongly criticized new pro Jan Ravnik, questioning his skills and ability to teach Jennifer Affleck. On his wife Peta Murgatroyd’s podcast, “The Penthouse with Peta,” Chmerkovskiy stated Ravnik shouldn’t be a pro, citing a lack of foundational technique and understanding of partnership. He expressed disbelief that Ravnik didn’t understand the foxtrot and questioned how he could effectively teach it. These comments came after Murgatroyd initially offered Ravnik some understanding, as it’s his first season, but Chmerkovskiy vehemently disagreed with her approach.
After returning home, Chloe Affleck used TikTok to show her support for her partner, whom she met during Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour. She posted a video pretending to angrily type on her phone with the caption, “Me when anyone talks badly about Jan.” Jan Ravnik, standing next to her, playfully indicated that the angry display didn’t reflect their shared values. Dancing with the Stars pro Ezra Sosa, who is partnered with Jordan Chiles, commented his enthusiastic support. If Chmerkovskiy and Ravnik want to resolve any issues, a dance competition would be the perfect solution.
