In Nampa, Idaho, a 14-year-old boy was hit by a truck while waiting for popular online streamer IShowSpeed to arrive at Columbia High School.
IShowSpeed is a hugely popular online streamer who’s famous for his incredible athletic skills, dramatic reactions, and exciting travels around the globe.
Speed has gained millions of followers by sharing his travels around the world, from Asia to Europe and Australia. Now, he’s exploring the United States, his home country.
This trip has been as wild as his previous travel adventures, with huge numbers of fans showing up wherever he goes. The crowds grew so large that police in Dallas, Texas almost arrested him, believing he was encouraging disruptive behavior.

It’s common for popular online personalities, like Speed, to attract huge crowds when they stream in person. However, the excitement of meeting these influencers can sometimes lead to risky and unsafe conditions.

Speed was scheduled to visit Columbia High School in Nampa, Idaho on Monday, September 22nd. His fans gathered outside the school, hoping to be featured in one of his live streams.
According to local news reports, a 14-year-old was hit by a pickup truck as a streamer was leaving Happy Valley Road around 6 PM. The truck wasn’t connected to the streamer or their group, and a crowd of people had gathered in the street at the time.
I was so upset to hear about what happened! The driver just took off, leaving the person hurt. Thankfully, they were taken to the hospital and, from what we know so far, they’ve already been treated and released. We haven’t gotten any updates on how they’re really doing though, and it’s worrying.
Police say the driver, 20-year-old Donald Allen Haggin II, reported the incident himself by calling at 7:30 PM and then going to the Nampa Police Department.
Haggin was arrested after a hit-and-run accident where someone was injured. This is a serious crime – a felony – that could result in a fine of up to $5,000, as much as five years in prison, and a one-year loss of driving privileges.
Speed hasn’t officially spoken about what happened, but he’s had to address issues with fans while touring the US. These incidents include reckless driving near his tour bus and damage to a restaurant where he was dining.
Speed’s live streams frequently attract massive crowds – sometimes hundreds of fans – which can be difficult for him to manage. During a stream in Norway, things got out of hand when he injured his ankle and was surrounded by fans. They overwhelmed his security, swarmed him, and even climbed onto his car.

During his 2024 European tour, Speed asked fans to stop hitting his cars while trying to get his attention. The damage ended up costing him $50,000 to repair.
Some streamers have faced legal trouble because of large fan gatherings. For example, Kai Cenat was charged with inciting a riot during a 2023 meet-and-greet in Times Square that became chaotic.
