Square Enix announced a new collaboration for their roguelite RPG, Dragon Quest Smash/Grow, bringing content from the very first Dragon Quest game. This collaboration will be available until June 16th.
Players will journey through the world of the original Dragon Quest, completing quests from the classic story and interacting with the people they meet. As they play, they’ll earn special gold coins that can be used to buy items in the game’s shop.

Dragon Quest Smash/Grow is now available on iOS and Android.

A special event celebrating the original Dragon Quest has begun in the latest Dragon Quest game, Dragon Quest Smash/Grow. To go along with this, SQUARE ENIX has also launched a new video series called DQSG Classified Report, which will keep players updated on everything happening in the game.
Starting today and running until June 16th UTC, players can experience the world of Dragon Quest I. You’ll be able to interact with characters and complete quests related to the game’s story. By participating, you can earn special DQ1 gold coins to redeem for rewards in the in-game shop.
As you advance through the latest story content, you’ll encounter challenges like the ‘Fearsome Foe: Green Dragon.’ Your performance – specifically, how much damage you inflict within the time limit – determines your rank and the rewards you receive. A limited selection of Erdrick’s Equipment is also available now, including the famous Erdrick’s Sword. This powerful weapon features the Gigaslash, a special finishing move that launches enemies with a strong lightning strike, and is further enhanced by the Zapple Swords Enchantment, adding extra lightning damage after each attack.
Players can also claim new login bonuses and receive up to 1,200 gems.
