Download The Hytale Launcher Now, As Hypixel Estimates “Over 1 Million” Players At Launch

Hytale has had a complicated history. After being cancelled by Riot Games, the team that originally created it bought the game back and started working on it again in November 2025. It’s entering early access on January 13th, and the developers admit it will be rough around the edges with some bugs. However, Hypixel – the company known for a hugely popular Minecraft server – anticipates a very large launch, predicting “over 1 million” players. Because of this, they’re asking players to download the game launcher beforehand.

Hypixel CEO Simon Collins-Laflamme announced on X (formerly Twitter) that they anticipate over one million players will join the early access launch of Hytale. He encouraged players to download the game launcher and log in now to help ensure a smooth launch. With preorders open since early December, Hypixel has a good understanding of player interest and this million-player estimate is based on actual preorder numbers, not just guesses.

Hypixel gave mod developers advance access to Hytale so they could create mods for the early release. These mods are adding things like new game modes, character customizations, items, and helpful improvements, and more are being added every day. When Hytale officially launches on January 13th, all of these mods will be available on Curseforge thanks to a partnership between Hypixel Studios and the modding platform.
