For a while now, submachine guns (SMGs) haven’t been very popular or effective in Destiny 2. However, recent updates with the Edge of Fate and Ash & Iron seasons have significantly improved them, and they’re now becoming a strong choice for players again.
To make things even better, Bungie has given Destiny 2 players Seraphine Haze, a really powerful weapon for medium-range combat.
This SMG is already special because it’s one of the few that uses Stasis energy. On top of that, it has amazing base stats and a unique perk you won’t find on any other SMG. There are a lot of ways to customize it, so let’s take a closer look at your options.

Seraphine Haze isn’t quite as all-around powerful as the old Multimach CCX, but it’s a strong contender. Its ability to combine Subsistence with Attribtion Orbs lets it quickly eliminate weaker enemies and build up its special attack power.
This gun really excels when used with Stasis builds. Its new perk, Crystalline Corpsebloom, works like the Headstone perk, but for weapons that aren’t great at landing precise hits. Quickly defeating enemies creates Stasis Crystals, and when combined with the auto-reloading ability of Subsistence, you’ll constantly generate these crystals, leading to a never-ending cycle of powerful Shatter effects.

If you prefer, you can use Rimestealer in your first slot instead of Subsistence, as it works well with the special abilities from Edge of Fate. No matter which setup you choose, increasing your Stability is crucial. While we usually don’t recommend Chambered Compensator for your barrel, Haze already has good Handling, so the slight decrease is worth it for a big boost to Stability.
When playing against other players (PvP), the most effective way to improve your accuracy and damage is by using both Dynamic Sway Reduction and Target Lock. To compete at longer distances, it’s also crucial to increase your weapon’s range with Accurized Rounds and a Range-boosting weapon mod.
How to get Seraphine Haze
Like many of the new weapons in Edge of Fate, getting the Seraphine Haze isn’t simple. Right now, it can only be obtained by completing Pinnacle Ops.
I’m trying to collect Seraphine Haze, and I’ve learned that any mission can potentially drop it. But the fastest way to get it is to focus on missions that specifically list Seraphine Haze as a featured reward – that way, I’m guaranteed to get at least one every time I finish the mission!
That covers everything about the Seraphine Haze weapon, but it’s not the only powerful option in Destiny 2. If you’re looking for more build inspiration, check out our guides for Everburning Glitz and Unfall.
