A food delivery driver became popular online after refusing to give a customer their order because no tip was added. This happened while major snowstorms were causing problems in several parts of the U.S.
A video circulating online shows a pizza delivery driver walking up to a customer’s house and knocking on the door, as captured by the home’s doorbell camera.
The driver handed over the pizza after receiving the signed delivery receipt, but didn’t receive a tip. As he walked away, he could be overheard saying, “You can come get it.”
They said they weren’t making deliveries without tips today and drove off. When the customer asked if that meant they’d have to get the food from the car, they confirmed that the customer would need to pick it up directly from the store.
Customer says they intended to tip
Jaylen Howard meant to tip his delivery driver $15 on a $29 order, Inside Edition reports.
Howard explained that when the delivery arrived, he completed the purchase and signed the receipt. However, the driver immediately grabbed the receipt and left. When asked if he received his order, Howard confirmed, “Yes, I got the pizza, but a different person delivered it.”

I was watching this video from January 25, 2026, and it was during a really rough winter all over the U.S.! There were huge snowstorms causing major travel and delivery problems everywhere, even around where Howard lives near Washington, D.C. It was pretty crazy weather at the time.
New York City recently increased minimum pay for delivery workers who use apps like Uber Eats and DoorDash. Now, these workers are guaranteed a certain hourly rate, no matter how much or how little they earn in tips.
