Dave Coulier Diagnosed with a Second Type of Cancer

I was really saddened to hear that Dave Coulier, best known as Joey from Full House, has received a second cancer diagnosis. Just seven months after finishing treatment for non-Hodgkin lymphoma, he discovered something else during a routine scan. It turned out to be P16-positive oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma – essentially, tongue cancer. He told TODAY that it’s completely separate from his previous illness, and he was understandably shocked. The good news, though, is that they caught it early! He’s already almost finished with treatment, which involves radiation, and doctors are optimistic, saying there’s a 90% chance of a full recovery. He’s continuing treatment through the end of the year, and hopefully, this will be the last of it. It’s a tough situation, but it’s encouraging to hear how treatable it is.

Earlier this year, Dave Coulier finished his treatment for Stage 3 non-Hodgkin lymphoma, and his former co-stars were there to celebrate with him. He described them as family, explaining that they stay connected through funny text messages and frequent video calls. Candace Cameron Bure and Lori Loughlin have FaceTimed him a few times, while John Stamos calls him almost daily. Coulier first revealed his diagnosis in November and has since become a strong advocate for cancer screening and early detection. Surprisingly, he found a silver lining in his experience, noting that having one type of cancer helped him discover another. He says it sounds strange, but it’s true.
