Crimson Desert lets you play as three characters: Kliff, Damiane, and Oongka. Many players are unsure how to unlock Damiane and Oongka, or how to effectively switch between characters. This guide will show Crimson Desert players exactly how to unlock and use these additional characters.
How To Unlock Damiane and Oongka in Crimson Desert
You unlock Damiane and Oongka in Crimson Desert by progressing through the main story to certain points.
- Damiane – Unlocked during Chapter 3 “Howling Hill” when Kliff unlocks his camp
- Oongka – First unlocked during Chapter 7 “Homecoming” after defeating the Boss in Ashclaw Keep
You’ll automatically unlock Damiane in Crimson Desert during Chapter 3, “Howling Hill,” once Kliff establishes the camp. However, the story will progress to a point where you temporarily won’t be able to play as her.
You’ll unlock Oongka in Chapter 7, “Homecoming,” after beating the boss in Ashclaw Keep. We won’t reveal who the boss is, but you’ll recognize them when you get there. Interestingly, you’ll even get to play as Oongka for a short time while Kliff recovers after the fight.
It’s true that these characters will be locked again soon after you unlock them. However, don’t worry – you’ll definitely be able to access them both throughout and after the main storyline.
How to Summon/Switch between Characters in Crimson Desert
In Crimson Desert, you’re not limited to just one character – you can switch between them at any time! Plus, you can even call characters in to help during fights. Simply hold up on the D-pad and use the menu that appears to choose the character you want to bring in, and you’ll instantly switch control to them.
As a gamer, I’ve found summoning characters is a total game-changer. It’s awesome because you get extra help in battles and when exploring the world. Seriously, it makes tackling those huge enemy camps so much easier. Plus, sometimes it’s just cool to not be alone and have a buddy traveling with you!
You’ll successfully switch or summon when the camera angle changes to a wide, overhead view, much like in Grand Theft Auto V. The whole process is straightforward and easy to do.
That covers everything you need to unlock all the playable characters in Crimson Desert. You’ll primarily play as Kliff, but you can also try out the other two characters, each offering a different way to experience the game.
