Crimson Desert devs given 5 million Won bonus to celebrate 5 million copies sold

Crimson Desert has quickly become a popular game, attracting many players to its vast world and the chance to play as Kliff and battle for the Greymanes. The game’s success has been so significant that the development team was rewarded with substantial bonuses.

Crimson Desert offers something for everyone, whether you enjoy action-packed combat as Kliff, challenging boss battles, or relaxing activities like fishing and collecting cute pets. Its popularity is clear – over 5 million copies have been sold since its March release, a significant success for developer Pearl Abyss.

The success of Crimson Desert also benefited the studio’s team, as every employee received a significant bonus to recognize their hard work.

Crimson Desert employees given $3,400 reward for success

Pearl Abyss rewarded its employees with approximately $3,400 each (5 million Won) after their game, Crimson Desert, sold 5 million copies within its first month, according to Money Today Broadcasting.

The CEO of Pearl Abyss announced a bonus for all employees to celebrate the game exceeding 5 million sales. In a message, the CEO expressed deep appreciation for the team’s hard work in creating a globally popular product and thanked everyone for their dedication and contributions.

Considering Pearl Abyss had 733 employees last year, a bonus payout of 3.7 billion Won (approximately $2.5 million) is a significant sum.

Money Today Broadcasting reports that employees can expect another bonus in early 2027. This payment will be based on the company’s profits earned in 2026, on top of the current bonus.

If Crimson Desert is successful and reaches a new goal, the development team will probably receive another generous bonus.
