ProbablyMonsters will release its gothic action-adventure RPG, Crimson Moon, in September 2026. The game will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC through Steam.
Crimson Moon, first revealed at the February 2026 State of Play, is designed for repeated playthroughs and can be enjoyed solo or with friends in co-op mode. I previewed the game earlier this year, and the developers emphasized their goal is to make players feel powerful and capable.

After showcasing early gameplay at Summer Game Fest Play Days, independent game developer ProbablyMonsters announced that their new game, Crimson Moon, will launch in September 2026. The game represents the company’s goal of creating high-quality, mid-sized titles with the polish and detail usually found in larger, blockbuster games – focusing on a strong story, detailed worlds, and carefully designed gameplay.
I just checked out the trailer for Crimson Moon, and let me tell you, the co-op action looks insane! You get a good look at all the different weapons, special abilities, and armor you can get. Plus, the enemies? Seriously monstrous. It looks like there’s a ton of variety waiting for us players.
Crimson Moon, an action-adventure RPG with a dark, Renaissance-inspired setting, will release in September 2026. Players become powerful angelic beings called Nephilim and fight to survive in the war-torn city of Gildenarch. The game features challenging missions designed for multiple playthroughs, with fast-paced combat that rewards skill and allows for deep character customization. You can play solo for a fulfilling experience, or team up with a friend in co-op mode. Playing with a friend unlocks powerful combinations and makes every battle more intense and strategic, without sacrificing the game’s quick pace and dynamic action.
David Lesperance, General Manager and Game Director at ProbablyMonsters, explained that Crimson Moon is a thrilling action RPG built for cooperative play with friends, drawing inspiration from beloved fantasy stories, gothic horror, and metal music.
The game is launching in September, and players will soon be able to play as the Nephilim, exploring dangerous streets and huge cathedrals either solo or with a friend.
