Despite appearing in Charlie Sheen’s 2025 documentary, aka Charlie Sheen, Sheen admits he still hasn’t contacted his former co-star, even though he feels any past issues are resolved. He told People magazine on April 22nd that he often intends to reach out to Jon Cryer but never actually does, explaining he doesn’t want to bother anyone. He believes Cryer would be receptive to a conversation, praising him as a “lovely” and “talented” man. Sheen jokingly pointed out Cryer’s absence from a recent documentary promotion panel, teasing that Cryer still seems to hold a grudge after all these years. He laughed, saying he’s moved on and doesn’t understand why Cryer hasn’t. Sheen was touched by the support shown by others who did attend the event, acknowledging they easily could have declined to revisit the past, but chose to participate instead.
Charlie Sheen previously explained that he didn’t call Jon Cryer directly to be in the documentary because he didn’t have Cryer’s phone number. The director, Andrew F. Renzi, reached out to Cryer instead. After seeing Cryer’s contributions, Sheen wrote him a thank you note and apology for not connecting personally, hoping to see him again. Sheen jokingly added to People magazine that he might have sent the message to the wrong number, noting Cryer is always very responsive. He ended with a playful request for Cryer to send him his current phone number via direct message if he’s reading the article.
It appears Charlie Sheen and Jon Cryer aren’t trying to repair their relationship. Cryer explained on Bill Maher’s podcast, Club Random, that they’re no longer in contact, but he wishes Sheen well. He’s also happy to hear Sheen has been sober. Perhaps Sheen should wait for Cryer to reach out if he wants to reconnect.
