Hey everyone, just a heads-up for fellow Battlefield fans! I’ve been seeing a lot of scam ads on Reddit lately pretending to be invites to playtest Battlefield 6. They’re trying to trick people into giving up their Steam account info, so please be super careful and don’t click on anything suspicious. Let’s look out for each other!
Users on the Battlefield subreddit noticed ads appearing on Reddit that falsely advertised early access to DICE’s new shooter game.
Instead of linking to official EA or Steam websites, these links redirect to a fake website that looks like Steam’s login page. This is a trick to steal users’ Steam usernames and passwords when they enter them.
If you enter your information on these fake pages, you could lose access to your entire Steam account, including any payment methods you have saved and all the games you own. While the pages look real, observant users can identify them by checking the web address, which will reveal it’s not a legitimate Steam page.
Fake Battlefield 6 playtest ads spotted by fans
People in the gaming community are warning others about fake ads claiming to offer Battlefield 6 playtests. They emphasize that EA hasn’t announced any tests yet and that official tests will only be announced and run through official EA and Steam platforms. The discussion on Reddit has gained a lot of attention, with many users asking the platform to remove the misleading advertisements.
Scammers often take advantage of excitement surrounding popular shooting games. For example, players of Call of Duty: Warzone were previously targeted with fake cheat programs that secretly installed harmful software. Activision warned in 2021 that many of these supposedly ‘free hacks’ were actually designed to steal players’ information or infect their computers with viruses.

We’re currently advising players to be cautious of Battlefield 6 ads on Reddit and to carefully check website addresses before clicking. Real Steam pages will always end with “steampowered.com” or “steamcommunity.com.” For added security, we also recommend turning on two-factor authentication.
Just a heads-up: excitement for the next Battlefield game is building, but any official news will come straight from EA and DICE – don’t rely on information from unofficial sources like random ads you might see online.
