A Texas man was arrested for robbing the same bank he’d targeted in a similar crime nearly a decade earlier.
Even in fictional detective stories, revisiting a crime scene is generally avoided. This is because police often continue searching the area, and suspects are frequently found nearby.
Christopher McKay, 43, reportedly attempted to rob the same Wells Fargo bank in Fort Worth that he had successfully robbed in 2016, seemingly forgetting his past crime.
According to the Fort Worth Police Department, McKay entered the bank on November 20th and told employees he had a gun. He then reportedly demanded cash from the bank’s locked drawers.

The 43-year-old was unsuccessful in getting any money and promptly ran away from the scene.
Police found the suspect close by and took him into custody. Paramedics were called because he was experiencing withdrawal symptoms from fentanyl, according to a Fort Worth Police Department spokesperson who spoke with the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.
He had robbed this same bank before, back in 2016, but was arrested soon after. He then spent seven years in prison for the crime.

He’s now been charged with aggravated robbery related to the recent attempted robbery, and he’s currently being held in Tarrant County Jail without bail, according to the Star-Telegram.
In San Francisco over the weekend, someone stole $11 million worth of cryptocurrency by pretending to be a delivery person. Police say the victim was tied up during the robbery, but there have been no arrests and no reports of injuries.
