Launching a hit comedy and keeping it on the air for years has become increasingly challenging in recent times. However, CBS’s The Neighborhood has defied the odds. Created by Jim Reynolds, the series debuted in 2018 and has aired for eight seasons, totaling 145 episodes—making it the longest-running comedy currently on network television. While season 8, which concludes in May, is nearing its end, the show has another reason to celebrate.

Mike Flanagan has been directing for more than ten years, working on both original stories and adaptations of existing works. However, he really gained recognition in the horror genre after his success on Netflix. Now, after completing The Fall of the House of Usher for the streaming service, Flanagan has signed a new, multi-year deal with Prime Video.

Cillian Murphy recently confirmed he isn’t going to play Voldemort, following rumors about the role. Some are now suggesting Tilda Swinton might take on the part, potentially in a gender-swapped casting, as Ralph Fiennes originally played him. However, given J.K. Rowling’s controversial views, it’s unclear if she would approve of this change.

I was completely hooked by this episode of “The Mailman.” It brilliantly jumps between Xavier desperately trying to understand what’s happening with his wife – he’s finally found her at that post office thanks to her radio signals – and a fascinating look into Gary’s life, starting five years before everything went crazy and bringing us right up to the present. While Britton is fantastic as always, I have to say Enuka Okuma has absolutely made Teri a vital part of this show in just two episodes – I honestly can’t imagine Paradise without her! Please, don’t let anything happen to Teri! The episode then starts to reveal how Gary and Teri’s stories connect, and to understand that, you first need to learn about Gary’s life before the volcanic eruption changed everything.

It’s been 24 years since the TV show Firefly was cancelled by Fox. Although a follow-up movie, Serenity, and comic books kept the story alive, fans still want to see more on television. Given the current popularity of show revivals and reboots, and a renewed interest in media from that era, now is a great time to bring Firefly back to the screen.
