Director ‘s plans for television are now set for the future. He recently signed a multi-year deal for new projects, coming before the release of his limited series, Carrie.
Mike Flanagan has been directing for more than ten years, working on both original stories and adaptations of existing works. However, he really gained recognition in the horror genre after his success on Netflix. Now, after completing The Fall of the House of Usher for the streaming service, Flanagan has signed a new, multi-year deal with Prime Video.
Anyone familiar with Mike Flanagan’s work won’t be surprised by this news. In addition to directing feature films, including a reimagining of The Exorcist, Flanagan is also releasing a limited series adaptation of Stephen King’s Carrie on Prime Video later this year.
He’s currently developing a television adaptation of Stephen King’s The Dark Tower as well. Given that he already has two projects on Amazon Prime Video, continuing to work with them under his Red Room Pictures banner makes perfect sense.
