Many people doubted Amazon when they announced a Fallout TV series, but after two successful seasons, it’s clear the creators have a strong vision. The show proves that a post-apocalyptic world can make for compelling television, and now, another project is drawing inspiration from both Fallout and the original game that influenced it.
Okay, so there’s this game called Atomfall, came out in 2025. It’s an action-survival thing, and honestly, it’s pretty clear it was inspired by Fallout, but with a really cool British spin. Instead of the usual American post-apocalypse, it’s based on the Windscale disaster, and they’ve swapped things like baseball bats for cricket bats – it’s a fun little detail! Apparently, Two Brothers Pictures is now turning it into a TV show, which I’m actually pretty excited about.
Another Nuclear Post-Apocalypse TV Show

Rebellion CEO Jason Kingsley expressed excitement about collaborating with Two Brothers to adapt Atomfall into a TV show. He noted that Harry and Jack, the creators, were enthusiastic fans of the game and had even discussed their own ideas for how it could end. Kingsley believes their shared passion for storytelling will result in a series that appeals to both existing fans and new viewers.
Although Atomfall wasn’t a mainstream hit, it did win Best British Game at the 2026 BAFTA Awards, which is exciting news. This is part of a growing trend of video games being turned into live-action movies and TV series. It seems everyone wants to replicate Amazon’s success in this area. One key question will be whether the filmmakers can successfully capture the game’s unique British atmosphere.
Ben Sledge, in his review of Atomfall for The Gamer, praised the game’s freedom, noting that players can choose to support the villagers, the ruling government, or simply eliminate everyone. He highlighted that all these approaches are viable, and the game can be played as a stealth title, an immersive simulation, or even a detective game. While he doesn’t consider it a traditional RPG, he feels that’s perfectly acceptable.
