Popular Twitch streamer Asmongold says Twitch is showing a lot of ads on his channel, but he isn’t seeing any additional revenue from them.
Okay, so if I’m trying to make some cash streaming, there are a few ways to do it. Obviously, people subscribing to my channel helps, but I can also get direct donations from viewers. Plus, if I build up a big enough audience, I can land sponsorships and earn money from the ads that run during my streams. It’s a combo of all those things, really.
Streaming can be very profitable, particularly for popular creators. Top streamers can earn hundreds of thousands of dollars each month just from advertisements, especially if they show them frequently during their broadcasts.
Streamers handle ads in different ways. Some run them at the beginning of every hour, similar to traditional TV. Others play ads whenever they feel is best. And some let Twitch automatically insert ads based on its own settings.
Twitch alledgedly ‘spamming’ ads on Asmongold channels
Asmongold says Twitch, which is owned by Amazon, has been showing a lot of ads on his channel, but he isn’t making any more money because of them.
He recently checked his channel statistics and was shocked to discover how often ads were running – seven seconds per hour. He expressed frustration, saying he wasn’t receiving any of the revenue from those ads, and that the platform was simply displaying them on his channel without compensating him.
I’m seeing ads on my content, but I’m not being paid for them. It’s strange you haven’t received access to Turbo either. Without Turbo, I don’t receive any compensation.
Asmongold was stunned to discover Twitch had been running advertisements on his channel without giving him any of the revenue. 😮

The streamer, who used to be part of OTK, has been streaming on both Kick and Twitch lately. However, earning money from Twitch has been a long-standing issue for them.
ZackRawrr didn’t use ads or make money from his Twitch channel for a long time, only starting to monetize it last December. Asmongold said Twitch essentially made him become a partner because his unmonetized channel was costing them money.
The popular streamer has been highlighting his success on Kick, claiming he’s earning more money there than he ever did on Twitch.
