Players in Arc Raiders found a way to open locked rooms without keycards, which quickly became a popular tactic. This upset players who weren’t using the exploit, so the game developers at Embark Studios quickly released a fix. Now, trying to access these rooms illegally will result in an unpleasant surprise inside.
In Arc Raiders, accessing certain rooms is meant to be a risky but rewarding challenge. However, players discovered a way to bypass the security – normally requiring a keycard – and enter these rooms without any danger. They were able to quickly collect all the valuable items inside, leaving nothing for players who legitimately unlocked the rooms. This caused a lot of frustration among the Arc Raiders player base.
To fix this issue, Embark Studios programmed the rooms to turn on flamethrowers if a player entered through a glitch. Players soon realized this created a deadly trap, often resulting in their character being burned alive. Meanwhile, other players who had the necessary keycards would find a room full of valuable loot and the remains of the unfortunate adventurer.
