Alexandra Daddario has responded to rumors that she might appear in James Gunn’s new DC Universe. Fans have been creating art and discussing the possibility of her playing Wonder Woman or Catwoman, and Daddario addressed these conversations in a recent interview. This has increased excitement about the upcoming DCU projects, which are part of Gunn’s “Gods and Monsters” era.
Alexandra Daddario hasn’t seen any of her Wonder Woman fan art
Alexandra Daddario recently talked to ScreenRant about rumors she might appear in James Gunn’s new DC Universe. While promoting her movie, I Wish You All The Best, she was asked about fan art showing her as Wonder Woman or Catwoman, roles many fans have suggested she’d be perfect for. Daddario admitted she hadn’t actually seen the fan art.
She said she was pleased to hear about the fan casting, but hadn’t actually seen it. She also admitted she didn’t know about it. When asked if she’d be interested in joining James Gunn’s DC Universe, she responded that working with him would be a dream, but she was unaware of any discussions about it.
DCU has plans for both Wonder Woman and Catwoman. James Gunn announced on Threads that Catwoman will be included in a future project, details of which haven’t been revealed yet. A Wonder Woman movie is also in the early stages of development, with Ana Nogueira, the writer of Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, writing the screenplay.
A prequel series called Paradise Lost is still being developed, though progress is slow. James Gunn mentioned it’s moving forward, but they haven’t yet assembled the full creative team to work on it.
Despite lots of fan talk about who might play Wonder Woman in the upcoming reboot, DC Studios hasn’t officially announced any cast members. If everything stays on track with the script, the movie could potentially come out around 2028.
