The upcoming season of The Bachelorette starring Taylor Frankie Paul has been cancelled by Disney due to recent allegations of domestic violence. Disney announced the decision after a video surfaced today, stating their priority is supporting the family involved. It’s currently unclear what will air in the show’s place on Sundays.
Production on the fifth season of Paul’s show, TSLOMW, has been temporarily stopped following allegations of domestic assault involving Paul and her former partner, Dakota Mortensen, which surfaced last week. Police in Draper City have confirmed they are actively investigating the claims. Despite the situation, Paul recently appeared on Good Morning America to discuss her season of The Bachelorette, stating she’s “trying to be in the present moment and focus on this.” However, TMZ released a video today showing a heated argument between Paul and Mortensen from 2023, where Paul is seen throwing furniture while her oldest child was present.
The recent evidence was the final straw for Disney, and it’s unclear how this will affect the struggling Bachelor franchise. They were hoping Paul, a star from one of Disney’s newer reality shows, would revitalize the series, but not all pairings work out.
