Be warned: the following contains spoilers for the fifth episode of Boston Blue, titled “Suffer the Children.” You can watch the episode now with a Paramount+ subscription.
The most recent episode of Boston Blue, airing in 2025, really strengthened the bond between Sean Regan (Mika Amonsen) and Jonah Silver (Marcus Scribner). Sean, the youngest son of Danny Regan and played by a new actor, has faced some challenging situations as a new police officer working with Jonah. Their friendship is developing nicely, and a recent plot twist has me feeling both hopeful and anxious about what’s to come for them.
What Happened With Sean And Jonah In This Latest Episode?
In the latest episode of Blue Bloods, it was shown that Danny was still living with his son, Sean, on Sean’s couch, and this was starting to bother Sean. Danny realized he needed his own space, and when he told Sean he was planning to move out, Sean offered him the apartment – he’d co-signed the lease anyway. Sean then revealed he was going to move in with Jonah, who had earlier mentioned needing a roommate.
Watching Sean and Jonah work together has been great, and the idea of them becoming roommates is hilarious. It actually makes a lot of sense, since they’ve been friends ever since police academy. I’m looking forward to seeing how they adjust, but I do have some reservations – living with someone is different than just being coworkers.
Why Might Sean And Jonah’s Decision Be A Bad Move?
Anyone who’s shared an apartment or dorm knows that having roommates can be both good and bad. It usually takes time to adjust to living with someone, and arguments are common. While it’s great to live with a friend or colleague – you already know them and might even be able to share rides – I’m curious if any disagreements between Sean and Jonah as roommates could affect how they work together.

I’m really enjoying Paramount+! For just $7.99 a month or $59.99 a year, I can stream shows like Boston Blue and Blue Bloods. They have a couple of different plans – the Essential plan is the cheaper option, and if you want to watch without ads, there’s a Premium plan for $12.99 a month. Honestly, if you’re planning on watching a lot, the annual plan is a great way to save some money. I definitely recommend checking it out!
If two police officers were arguing while investigating a crime scene, it could create problems on the job. For example, their disagreement might distract them and cause them to miss important clues, or even lose a suspect they were pursuing.
Every partnership has its challenges, and Sean and Danny are already deeply involved in each other’s families, attending Silver family dinners weekly. Despite this, I worry that personal conflicts could affect their work. While I suspect this situation might create more problems than solutions, it’s bound to make for compelling television.
Okay, so Sean and Jonah are now roommates, and honestly, the potential for some really great stories is already there. I’m not sure how this living situation will play out for these two, but as a viewer, I’m definitely rooting for them to make it work – and for the writers to deliver some compelling drama and laughs along the way!
New episodes of Boston Blue air Fridays at 10 p.m. Eastern on CBS. Expect to see Sean and Jonah’s story continue, along with some exciting guest appearances from the cast of Blue Bloods – you won’t want to miss it!
