Following numerous years of anticipation, Metroid Prime 4 is scheduled for release on December 4. During today’s Nintendo Direct, the launch date for this game on the Switch and potential successor, Switch 2, was announced, along with a fresh trailer displaying Samus cruising on a sleek, motorcycle-like vehicle reminiscent of Batman.
The video opens with Samus mounting her bike named Vi-O-La. As a bounty hunter, she’s shown tearing across a vast desert expanse on her motorcycle, engaging in combat. Later, we find ourselves in a wintry landscape where Samus faces off against wolf-like creatures amidst heavy snowfall. Finally, Sylux makes an appearance at the conclusion of the trailer.
Apart from announcing the release date, Nintendo also revealed three new Amiibo figures inspired by Metroid Prime 4. On November 6, two figurines are scheduled to launch: one of Samus and another depicting Samus riding Vi-O-La. Following this, on December 4, a Sylux Amiibo will be released for purchase.
Originally unveiled at E3 2017 – around eight years ago, Metroid Prime 4 was later rebooted in early 2019. Retro Studios then took over its development. This studio had previously created the Metroid Prime subseries in 2002 and guided the first three mainline games. Recently, TopMob had the opportunity to test Metroid Prime 4 ahead of time. For further details, don’t miss out on the biggest Nintendo Direct announcements from September.
