Okay, so I’m really hyped about this new Superman spin-off, DC Crime, and we’re finally getting some juicy details! It sounds like it’s going to be a really interesting take on the world beyond the Man of Steel.
Warner Bros. and DC Studios revealed this week that they’re developing a new TV show centered around Jimmy Olsen, played by Skyler Gisondo. The series will be written and produced by Dan Perrault and Tony Yacenda, the creators of American Vandal.
The show will focus on Olsen and the other reporters at the Daily Planet – everyone except Lois Lane and Clark Kent – as they investigate cases involving supervillains. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Gorilla Grodd will be a major villain this season.
Who has joined the cast of the DC Crime show?
According to Nexus Point News, we’re learning more about the supporting cast for the upcoming DC Crime series. Along with Gisondo, Wendell Pierce, Beck Bennett, Mikaela Hoover, and Christopher McDonald will all return as Perry White, Steve Lombard, Cat Grant, and Ron Troupe, respectively.
Currently, David Corenswet as Clark Kent and Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane won’t be featured in the DC Crime series.
According to Nexus Point News, filming for the DC crime series is set to start this spring in Atlanta. This coincides with the shooting schedule for “Man of Tomorrow,” the next Superman movie, which opens up the possibility of unexpected appearances by actors in either production. “Man of Tomorrow” is currently scheduled for release in U.S. theaters on July 9, 2027.
Currently, there’s no release date for DC Crime. It’s unknown whether it will be released before or after ‘Man of Tomorrow.’ James Gunn and Peter Safran are executive producers on the show, along with Perrault and Yacenda. Gialyin Vaisman will be overseeing the project for DC.
