A recent report clarifies what happened with the complaint Millie Bobby Brown made against her “Stranger Things” co-star, David Harbour. Back in November, the Daily Mail reported that Brown filed a formal complaint before season 5 filming, alleging bullying and harassment. This led to an internal investigation that lasted several months, but sources confirm the accusations did not involve any claims of sexual misconduct.
Despite reports circulating, neither actor has publicly commented. However, Millie Bobby Brown and David Harbour recently appeared together at the premiere of Stranger Things season 5. Photos show the two, who often shared scenes together, hugging and laughing. Both actors spoke highly of their time working on the popular Netflix series, with Brown specifically sharing warm memories of working with Harbour.
According to a new report in Variety, an investigation into a complaint made by Brown has been concluded. This confirms details of a story originally published by the Daily Mail on November 1st. Insiders also say Harbour wasn’t anticipated to play a major role in promoting the fifth season of Stranger Things due to his demanding schedule filming Avengers: Doomsday and the new HBO series DTF St. Louis.
During a recent red carpet interview, Brown fondly remembered her first major role, highlighting the close relationship she’s built with David Harbour. She described their on-screen dynamic as a father-daughter bond, as her character, Eleven, looks up to Harbour’s Jim Hopper. Harbour shared similar feelings, expressing his affection for Brown and calling the show itself incredibly meaningful. Fans can expect to see the two actors share scenes together in the show’s final season.
PR experts writing in Variety believe the recent public reunion of David Harbour and Millie Bobby Brown, and Brown’s social media activity following Harbour’s accusations, is a deliberate attempt to show the Stranger Things cast is supportive of each other and that the show is more important than any individual. This is happening as fans eagerly await the return of the sci-fi series, which is just weeks away.
The fifth and final season of Stranger Things will be released in three parts. The first four episodes will be available on November 26th, with another three episodes coming on December 25th. The season will conclude with the final episodes on December 31st. To celebrate, the final episode will also be shown in over 350 theaters across the U.S. and Canada starting at 5 PM Pacific Time on December 31st, coinciding with its worldwide release and continuing through January 1st. This marks the end of a hugely popular series for Netflix, and the streaming service likely wants to keep all attention on the finale.
