Beneath its exciting gameplay of shooting and collecting items, Arc Raiders has a surprisingly heartfelt story. During the quest ‘Keeping the Memory,’ Celeste will ask you to honor a fallen soldier by placing a helmet on a memorial. This is a simple but touching task located in the Wreckage area of the Dam Battlegrounds map. If you’re struggling to find the helmet, don’t worry – we can help!
You don’t need to gather any items for this task, so feel free to start with an empty loadout to avoid risking your valuable resources. When you’re prepared, continue reading to find out where to locate the helmet needed for the ‘Keeping the Memory’ quest.
Where to find and place the helmet for Keeping the Memory
You can find the helmet at the Wreckage, which is located in the southern part of the Dam Battlegrounds map. Be careful though – it’s a popular area for both collecting mushrooms and encountering other players, so watch out for anyone else who might be there while you’re searching.

Once you reach the Wreckage, go to the southern part of the area and find the broken Baron machine. The helmet is hidden by a small plant right next to it. It’s easy to miss, but just look closely near the machine and interact with the plant to collect the helmet.

After you get the helmet, put it on the pole nearby. When you get close, a blue outline will appear on the pole, showing you where to place it. Just interact with the outline to finish the quest.

With the quest complete, you can now leave and return to Speranza. The Red Lakes Balcony Lift to the northeast is a convenient way to travel, but be cautious – ARC units frequently patrol that area. It’s also a common gathering place for players, so expect potential encounters with others.
