In Arc Raiders, you’ll take on quests to restore functionality to the surface world and help prepare for a fight to reclaim the planet from the ARC. The ‘Straight Record’ quest, given by Celeste, sends you to the Dam Battlegrounds to reactivate an old EMP. This involves locating the EMP and flipping several switches to power it up. If you’re having trouble finding those switches, this guide will walk you through completing the ‘Straight Record’ quest.
Where to find the old EMP trap for the Straight Record quest
You don’t need to bring any gear to complete the Straight Record quest. It’s perfectly fine to join the raid with a basic loadout, so you won’t lose valuable resources if you’re defeated by enemies or other players while working on it.
In Straight Record, your initial task is to locate an old EMP trap in the Victory Ridge area. It’s on the upper left side of the map, a little southwest of the West Broken Ridge landmark. Getting there is usually pretty straightforward, but you might encounter other players also trying to complete the quest—you can choose to fight them or team up if you prefer.
As soon as you enter, you’ll see a tall, slender machine covered in wires. It’s the old EMP, and you need to activate it to continue the quest. Just approach and interact with it – it’s currently off.
Where to find the power switches for the Straight Record quest
To start the old EMP, you need to flip three power switches. Luckily, they’re all nearby, so you won’t have to go far to find them.
Okay, so I found the first switch! It’s on a little cliff just north of that old EMP station. To get to it, I had to walk around the outside edge of the cliff. Once I got close, I just interacted with it to flip the switch on.

The second switch is right east of the old EMP, on some broken ruins. You can use the rubble to climb up to the second story and flip the switch.

To find the third switch, go a short distance south of the old EMP. It’s located right beside a tree – simply activate it when you find it.

Now that you’ve located all the switches, go back to the EMP and interact with it again to finish the quest.
Now that you’ve finished the quest, you can choose to keep searching for loot, or quickly head to the North Complex Elevator to the northeast and leave before other players find you. Either way, stay alert!
