AMC unveiled a hidden gem of a product in celebration of Toy Story’s 30th anniversary – a charming, light-up cup. This delightful item has been discreetly added to the merchandise accompanying the movie’s return to the big screen. The black and blue popcorn bucket with character toppers, particularly the ones featuring Woody and Buzz Lightyear, have garnered much attention, as they are undeniably cute. These items are available at various theater chains like AMC, Regal, Cinemark, and Marcus, but only AMC has revealed the light-up cups. At this point, we’ve gathered some details about the potential release date and price of this potentially exclusive Toy Story collectible.
How much is the AMC Toy Story 30th Anniversary light-up cup?
In simple terms, starting September 12, you can expect to purchase a commemorative illuminated mug for Toy Story’s 30th anniversary at AMC theaters for approximately $20. This date coincides with the American release of Toy Story’s theatrical re-release.
Currently, the exact cost of this cup remains undisclosed (though we’ll keep you updated once information becomes available). However, it’s expected to fall within a similar price range as the character-topper cups that are already on sale at Marcus Theatres for $18.99.
In the photo shared by AMC, the primary feature of the cup is transparency, except for the Toy Story 30th Anniversary logo and several character outlines etched on its surface. The base appears dark blue-black when switched off, but glows bright blue when activated, casting light on some of the character silhouettes. However, it’s not clear what type of battery powers this base or if the battery can be effortlessly replaced.
The light-up cup, similar to Topper Cup, includes a complimentary large drink at AMC cinemas. Unfortunately, details about whether it offers free refills on the same day of purchase aren’t clear. However, we can wishfully think that this is included. As of now, this cup doesn’t seem to be available for purchase through the AMC online store; instead, it appears to be exclusive to their theaters.
