Tom Brady recently shared that he had his deceased dog, Lua, cloned through Colossal Biosciences, the company known for its work attempting to resurrect the woolly mammoth and other extinct species.
Colossal Biosciences, a company in Dallas, Texas, recently gained attention for saying they’d created a version of the extinct dire wolf using gene editing and cloning techniques with gray wolf cells. The company has also announced plans to bring back the woolly mammoth and Tasmanian tiger, often generating a lot of buzz on social media with its ambitious projects.
Tom Brady had his dog, Junie, cloned by Colossal Biosciences, the same company that cloned his previous dog, Lua, who passed away in December 2023. Before Lua’s death, a sample of her DNA was collected. Colossal’s pet cloning service, Viagen Pets & Equine, used this sample to create Junie. Brady described the process as gentle and helpful in coping with his loss.
