I’m really excited for Pluribus to hit Apple TV this week! With the amazing people working on it, and the totally bizarre premise, I have a feeling this is going to be one of those shows everyone talks about and watches as soon as it’s released.
Apple TV+ currently offers a fantastic selection of shows, with ‘Severance’ being its most popular and critically acclaimed series, and it continues to gain momentum.
The spy thriller ‘Slow Horses’ has steadily gained popularity, and even though its fifth season just finished, the show has already been renewed for two more seasons. While Seth Rogen’s series ‘The Studio’ received a lot of praise this year, many find his Apple TV+ comedy ‘Platonic’ to be the more amusing of his two shows.
A new and unusual show called Pluribus is coming soon, and initial reactions are very positive. Here’s what has us looking forward to it.
Pluribus is Vince Gilligan’s first show since Breaking Bad & Better Call Saul

Vince Gilligan, the creator of the hit show Breaking Bad and its spin-off Better Call Saul, is back with a new series called Pluribus. As both creator and showrunner, he’s fully in charge, and viewers can expect a high-quality show.
However, Pluribus isn’t simply another show like those two, according to Gilligan, who emphasizes that it’s quite different.
Vince Gilligan, the creator of Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul, clarifies that his new show, Pluribus, is entirely separate from those series, despite being filmed in Albuquerque and featuring a familiar face from the Breaking Bad universe. He anticipates some viewers might tune in out of curiosity, expecting something similar, but quickly realize it’s different. ‘They might watch for 20 minutes and decide it’s not for them because it doesn’t have the same intense violence,’ Gilligan says. ‘That’s okay; it just means the show isn’t their cup of tea.’
Rhea Seehorn stars as Carol Sturka
Okay, so you know that amazing actress from the Breaking Bad world? That’s Rhea Seehorn, and honestly, I’m SO hyped for Pluribus because of her. Everyone talks about Bob Odenkirk as Jimmy McGill, and yeah, he was great, but for me, Rhea Seehorn was Better Call Saul. Kim Wexler was the character that really made the show tick, you know? She was the emotional core of everything.
In this role, Rhea Seehorn portrays Carol Sturka, a writer who suddenly finds herself famous and the center of everyone’s attention. Creator Alan Gilligan initially planned for a male lead, but he decided to rewrite the part after collaborating with Seehorn.
He admits he can be unoriginal, especially when it comes to creating characters. He initially planned to write another story with a male lead, explaining, ‘I just defaulted to what I know – I’m a man, so I naturally write about men.’ He shared this with Radio Times, acknowledging his tendency to fall back on familiar tropes.
I started noticing Rhea Seehorn around the same time, as she hadn’t been on Better Call Saul for very long – perhaps less than a year. I was immediately impressed; she was a truly talented, sweet, and kind person.
Honestly, this actress just blows me away. She’s incredible – she can pull at your heartstrings one minute and have you cracking up the next. She’s got serious range and is just a joy to work with. That’s why I decided to switch things up with my new show. I’ve told stories from a male perspective plenty of times, so I thought, ‘Let’s make this one about a woman,’ and I knew immediately I wanted to build the whole thing around Rhea.
Pluribus holds a mirror up to society

Pluribus envisions a world built on peace, kindness, and unity – a vision Gilligan presents as a response to the current state of affairs in the United States.
He tells NME that the United States feels deeply divided right now, with people falling into opposing camps. However, he believes most Americans, regardless of their political beliefs, don’t want this constant conflict. He argues that division isn’t a healthy way for a society to thrive and progress.
He believes the world feels increasingly dangerous and unstable, and his art, Pluribus, is his way of exploring that sense of anxiety.
Apple has already green-lit Season 2

In 2022, Vince Gilligan pitched the show ‘Pluribus’ to various studios, sparking a competition among them. Apple TV+ eventually secured the rights after winning a bidding war.
Sources say each episode of Pluribus cost between $13.5 and $15 million to produce, making it a very expensive series.
They were so sure the show would be a hit that they immediately ordered two seasons! If you enjoy the first season of Pluribus, you’ll be happy to know a second season is already confirmed, and we at TopMob are really excited about it.
The new show, Pluribus, will premiere on Apple TV with its first two episodes on Friday, November 7th. Here are some other highly-rated TV shows you can enjoy this month, plus a look at the best shows of 2025 so far.
