There’s a big shift happening with the latest Scream movie, Scream 7. It has new directors and cast members, leaving fans wondering who will return. Thankfully, Ghostface and Sidney Prescott (Neve Campbell) are both back. The first trailer for Scream 7 shows Ghostface targeting Sidney’s daughter, Tatum, after they’ve tried to start a new life far from Woodsboro. Sidney won’t be facing this threat alone; Gale Weathers (Courteney Cox) is joining the fight to finally stop Ghostface, declaring, “Let’s unmask this guy.” David Arquette and Matthew Lillard are also returning. The trailer culminates in a tense confrontation where Tatum comes face-to-face with the killer as he sets fire to the house, exclaiming, “I’m going to burn it all down.”
After a lot of behind-the-scenes issues, here’s our first glimpse of Scream 7. The film faced major changes when Melissa Barrera, who played Sam Carpenter, was let go in November 2023 because of her social media posts supporting Palestine. Shortly after, Jenna Ortega, who played her sister Tara, decided to leave the project, citing changes in the cast and director as her reason. Director Christopher Landon also stepped down following Barrera’s firing.
Scream 7 comes to theaters on February 27, 2026.
