The November update for Pokemon Legends: Z-A will make it easier to obtain certain Mega Evolution stones and also includes various bug fixes.
Players were frustrated to find that special items for their starter Pokémon from the Kalos region – Greninja, Delphox, and Chesnaught – could only be earned by playing ranked battles in the game’s Z-A Battle Club. While this remains true, it will be easier to get these items when the next competitive season begins.
In the past, players could only get one Mega Stone for either Greninja, Charizard, or Blastoise each season. For the first season of Pokémon Legends: Z-A, reaching rank K – starting from Z and going up to A – earned players the Greninjite.
Starting Wednesday, November 5th at 10 PM Pacific Time / 1 AM Eastern Time, players who didn’t get Greninja’s Mega Stone last season have a much easier chance to earn it. They only need to reach rank Y – requiring just one level up. Plus, the Delphoxite item is now available at rank S, eight ranks lower than before.
If future seasons are similar to this one, players can likely expect to earn a Chesnaughtite in Season 3. The Pokémon Company has also announced that they’re updating the game to give out more points and better rewards after each battle.
Okay, so it’s cool we’re getting these Mega Stones, but honestly, it’s a little frustrating. They’re making us play online – which means needing a Nintendo Switch Online subscription – to get something that really feels like it should have been in the game from the start. It’s not ideal, you know?
An update coming in November will fix two problems that were stopping players from continuing the story. One issue prevented players from getting new Pokémon if their storage was full during a specific part of the game. The other was a bug that happened when the game switched between daytime and nighttime.
Pokemon Legends: Z-A is receiving updates and improvements following a very strong start to sales, with the game performing exceptionally well in stores. Players can also look forward to paid downloadable content featuring new Mega Evolutions.
