U.S. anime fans will have a chance to experience a popular anime on the big screen next month during a special six-day animation event.
The Japan Society has announced that acclaimed anime director Shinichiro Watanabe – known for hits like Cowboy Bebop and Samurai Champloo – will be the main guest at Foreign Exchange 2025, a series of discussions with leading anime creators. From November 17th to 22nd in New York City, Watanabe will join Justin Leach (producer of Star Wars: Visions) and host LeSean Thomas to talk about the current anime landscape and how artists in the U.S. and Japan work together. The event will include talks at universities and other locations, as well as public showings of Cowboy Bebop: The Movie and Watanabe’s newest series, Lazarus.
Tickets for Foreign Exchange 2025 are on sale now. You can buy tickets to individual talks and film screenings for $20 (general admission), $18 (students), or $16 (Society members). If you’d like access to everything, an all-access pass costs $100 (general admission) or $90 (students and seniors).
