The creators of Stranger Things, the Duffer brothers, have shared some hints about Season 5. They say the final episodes will finally provide answers to two important questions that viewers have had since the very beginning of the show.
After nine years of captivating audiences worldwide, the popular Netflix series Stranger Things is coming to an end. Everything throughout the show has been leading to this final chapter.
The trailer for Season 5 is now available! The first episode will premiere in Los Angeles next week, and Netflix will release the final series in two parts: the first on November 26th and the second on December 25th, with the very last episode arriving on December 31st.
Recent clips suggest a significant character will die, and the show’s creators, Matt and Ross Duffer, have shared that major mysteries will be resolved before the series ends.
Stranger Things Season 5 will explain the Upside Down

Matt Duffer recently told Entertainment Weekly that this season of the show was designed to tie up loose ends from the very beginning. He explained that many of the questions raised in Season 1 are finally answered, including the two biggest mysteries that remained unsolved.
One key question remains: what exactly is the Upside Down? Right now, we don’t know much about this frightening alternate dimension.
The Upside Down, as seen in Stranger Things, wasn’t always around. It first appeared in 1983 and is a dark, alternate dimension that runs alongside our own world. This dangerous place is full of terrifying creatures, all linked to the powerful villain, Vecna.
Matt shared that much of the season is set in the Upside Down, and he’s exhausted from the visual effects work. He jokingly said he never wants to create another scene with floating particles – whether it’s snow, spores, or ash – because he’s done with that type of effect.
As a fan, I’m so excited to hear they’re finally revealing everything about the Upside Down! Apparently, the creators had it all mapped out way back in Season 1, and it’s awesome they’re now able to show us everything they’ve been building towards. It feels like a really satisfying full-circle moment for the story.
The final episodes will reveal why Will Byers was taken

Regarding the second mystery of Stranger Things season 5, Matt Duffer revealed they will finally explain why Will Byers was originally taken.
The first episode of Season 1 began with Will’s disappearance, prompting his friends to search for him and bring him back to his family. However, the reason why someone wanted Will has never been explained, though hints might appear in Season 2.
According to Ross Duffer in the same interview, a crucial clue to understanding Vecna’s motivations can be found in Season 4, Episode 2, ‘The Castle,’ which shows Will being taken to the Hawkins lab for evaluation.
Ross explained that Will was unknowingly aiding the Mind Flayer. Season 5 will reveal more about what happened and how it connects to Vecna.
The latest trailer confirms this, concluding with Vecna saying to Will, “You’re going to help me, one last time.”
Will’s story will also connect back to how everything began. As Matt explains, since the story initially focused on Will’s disappearance, it felt important for the narrative to ultimately resolve with him as well, bringing things full circle.
Over the past few seasons, Will hadn’t been a major focus of the show. We felt there were a lot of interesting stories to tell about him, both in terms of his personal development and how he fit into the overall plot.
