What Xillia DLC is not included in Tales of Xillia Remastered?

So far, the StarDriver and IdolMaster costumes are missing from the Tales of Xillia Remastered DLC.

In addition to the standard downloadable content, Tales of Xillia Remastered offers a Deluxe Edition bundle, a pre-order bonus, and several level-up packs available for purchase digitally. These packs cost 220 Yen each in Japan and $1.99 in the US eShop.

How to access DLC in Tales of Xillia Remastered

When you start Tales of Xillia, the game doesn’t automatically recognize any of the downloadable content you own, whether it’s from pre-orders or the Deluxe Edition. It doesn’t show any indication of the original game’s DLC either. If you have the Deluxe Edition, it will ask if you want to access the digital soundtrack and artbook. Otherwise, you’ll need to find the DLC manually. Go to the ‘Item’ section in the game’s menu, then scroll to the furthest right column (or check the ‘New’ tab) and look for the ‘EXTRA’ tab. This is where all 49 DLC sets are listed. I had all 49 sets because I own the Digital Deluxe Edition, but if you only have the standard edition without the pre-order bonus, you’ll only see 46.

Now, you’ll need to choose which items you want to use in your game. You can pick them individually, or select ‘Unlock All’ to get everything.

How to change costumes in Tales of Xillia Remastered

To switch your character’s outfit, first take control of them in the game. Then, press the button used for selecting faces (Y on Xbox, X on Switch, or Triangle on PS5) and go to the Equipment menu. Choose your character, and scroll down to the Attachments section using the d-pad or analog stick. Here, you can equip items you’ve unlocked as downloadable content or change your character’s costume. You can customize both hair and costume separately. There are three slots available for attachments.

How to change battle music in Tales of Xillia Remastered?

To get the new battle music, first claim the Battle BGM Pack from the in-game items menu – it’s the same place you find costumes and other downloadable content. Then, press the main button on your controller to open the System menu at the bottom of the screen. From there, go to Options, scroll down, and you’ll find the Battle Music Settings and Playlist screen.

The Battle Music settings allow you to choose how music plays during fights. You can use the default soundtrack, a custom playlist played in order, or a shuffled custom playlist. You create your playlist on the Battle Music Playlist Screen, where you’ll find all available songs from the game’s soundtrack. You can either choose songs individually or select all of them. Once you’ve made your selections, those songs will play during battles.

As a huge Tales of Xillia fan, I was so excited to get the Remastered Digital Artbook and Soundtrack! It includes some amazing art from the original 2011 art book and all 81 tracks from the 2023 soundtrack. The cool thing is, you access it through a separate app on all platforms. When I launch it on Steam, it asks if I want to open the app or the game itself. And if you’re playing on Steam or PS5, you can even export the music to a USB drive, which is awesome for listening on the go! Unfortunately, that export feature isn’t available on the Switch or Xbox versions.
